I need to have a heart to heart with you today because the online course world is stressful, it’s hard. And it requires a lot out of us.
We know the benefit is incredible, but there can be a lot of times where we think about giving up, going home and maybe going back to our day job.
I want to give you another one of my famous little therapy sessions so that you can get unstuck and get going and in the right direction of creating your course and scaling your course and all of the fun stuff.
Back in 2019, I felt like I was going at it alone. I really felt like it would just be easier to stay being a wedding photographer and not even trying. It’s like, am I ever going to stand out? Am I ever going to reach the goals that I have and the dreams that I have?
I would go and turn off my ads, but I would wake up the next day and I would be sad.
I actually didn’t want to give up. I wanted to give up at the moment, but I didn’t really want to give in.
How badly do you want it?
I wanted it to work.
I wanted to make it work and you want to make it work. I know that you want the dreams, right? You want the dream to come true of being successful, having a successful course, having a successful business and having the financial freedom
Sometimes in the moment, we can feel like we want to give up because it’s so hard. I can guarantee you if you were to give up and walk away, you’d wake up tomorrow and be upset with yourself and disappointed in yourself because you really wanted it to work.
It’s ok NOT to be ok
It’s okay to feel like you want to give up. It’s okay to feel like it’s not working out right now. It is okay to have those emotions because you grow from those emotions.
When you feel like you want to give up, I want you to ask yourself these things.
- What was I thinking?
- Why did I want to create a course?
- Who did I want to help?
- Do these people really need this information?
Chances are that answer is going to be yes, right?
I used to look in the Facebook groups and someone would be in there saying they were so upset because they can’t book weddings. And I knew how to do that. Like the back of my hand. And I was like, I need to teach this. That was always the motivation I needed to do. So I kept going because I knew that people out there needed what I had to offer.
Getting out of your funk
Write down why you feel so upset. Go to the restaurant that provides the most feeling food that you can possibly find. That’s Chick-fil-A for me. Eat the food. Process the emotions, listen to this episode.
Know that you’re not alone. I still have those days. I want you to sit down and write it out. What were you thinking in the best way possible? Why did you want this? What do you want out of this? And why do the people that you want to serve? Why do they need what you offer?
Maybe no one out there teaches it the way you’re going to. Maybe you’ve taken courses that other people are teaching on this subject. You know, there’s a gap, a huge gap, and you want to help your people. Maybe you just have a downright good heart and you want to serve people.
Write that down and then sit with the emotions. It’s okay. But tomorrow promise me, you’re going to get back up and you’re going to say, “ I’m doing this if it’s the last thing that I do. I’m doing this because I know I was born to win.”
This is a part of being an entrepreneur and a course creator. You’re doing something that a lot of people would never have the strength to do. And you’re amazing for that.
I cannot wait to see you next week. If you love this episode, I’d love to hear about it. Send me a DM on Instagram and I look forward to chatting with you.
